WINE SELECTION
APPETIZER
Grenache Blanc and Clairette, La Cabotte Cotes du Rhone 2009, France
This vintage produced dry white wine, with aromas of summer fruits; white peaches and apricots. This wine is very flavorful with a long finish on the palate.
SEAFOOD
Riesling, Erocia 2008, Washington
The wine shows the crisp acidity of the cooler 2008 vintage. It exudes mandarin orange and sweet lime aromas and flavors with subtle mineral notes. The mouth watering acidity is beautifully balanced by flavorful Washington Riesling fruit.
GAME
Meritage, DeLille Cellars, "Doyenne Aix" 2006, Washington
The aromas come on with enticing blackberry and blueberry fruits with scents of violets and lavender. The flavors are deep and beefy, with loads of ripe berry fruits, licorice and caramel with a squeeze of pomegranate juice. The finish is unctuous and lip smacking with dusty spices.
ENTRÉE
Meritage, Domaine la Suffrene 2001, France
The 2001 vintage is an outstanding vintage, with very high alcoholic content and significant maturation. It is noteworthy due to its flavors of fruit spirits, currants and over-ripeness. The tannins are characteristic yet coated, with plenty of smoothness that lingers on the taste buds.
DESSERT
Sparkling Wine, "J" Russian River Brut Rose, California
This J Brut Rose sparkles with luminous cool pink hue and exudes delicate
aromas of strawberry, nectarine and juicy red apples. On the palate, the
wine opens with flavors of cherry, blood orange, citrus peel and tropical
star fruit that are underlined by a bright acidity that keeps the overall
impression delightfully fresh.
